IT'S ON! The perfect storm is finally hitting the Netherlands, and 16 of the world's best kiteboarders are on their way to The Spot, Zandvoort, to show off their sickest megaloops.
After four years of waiting… The most extreme Megaloop event in Europe is now here!
Red Bull Megaloop sends 16 of the world’s best kiteboarders into the most extreme storm conditions to compete for the #1 title. Wind speeds off the coast of the Netherlands of 35 knots or higher are needed for the competition to start.
On event day, 16 riders will compete in a number of rounds:
Round 1
The best two riders per heat advance to Round 3. The remaining riders from Round 1 will move on to compete in Round 2.
Round 2
The best two riders per heat advance to Round 3.
Round 3
The best two riders per heat go to the Semi-Finals.
Semi-Finals
The best four riders move on to compete in the Final Round.
Final Round
Four riders compete for the title and trophy!
Just remember, this is a megaloop competition! It is not about quantity, but quality. One single extreme megaloop can be enough to win. The winner will be granted a wildcard spot at Red Bull King of the Air.

Judging criteria
Judges are looking for the biggest megaloops in kiteboarding, quality over quantity. One megaloop can win your heat. Only your highest scoring jump counts (unless there's a tie, then your second jump will count too). To determine the ones who take the podium, the Red Bull sports team (in collaboration with riders) has set out the following criteria on which the riders will be judged:
Extremity 70% (combination of height, power and distance travelled, kite angle)
Execution and Flow 30% (breakdown: trick 15% / style 10% / landing 5%)
