Kite or Wing?
A parawing is a super short-bridled single-skin kite designed to get you up on foil using the wind and then pack away so you can carve and glide hands-free using the energy of the ocean.
Wing Powered Safety
Parawinging has opened up more DW foiling spots for riders who are not paddle-strong, but have wind/kite backgrounds. We’ve even started carrying a parawing as a rescue chute on longer Wing, SUP or Foil Drive adventures and downwinders.

A parawing is a compact wind-powered wing used mainly for foil riding, downwind foiling and surf-style gliding. Unlike an inflatable wing, a parawing uses a lightweight canopy, short bridles and a control bar to generate power, then packs away so the rider can foil with more freedom. In the North range, the main parawing models are Rover and Ranger.
Rover - the better choice for freeride parawinging, upwind drive and covering distance with strong power control.
Ranger - the better choice for downwind foiling, surf-style riding and hands-free glide after packing the parawing away.
Choose Rover if you want more range, upwind ability and freeride performance. Choose Ranger if your priority is downwind, swell riding and a more compact pack-away experience.
The Rover is the stronger starting point for many riders who want easier power control, freeride stability and a wider wind range while learning parawinging. The Ranger can also be accessible for riders with foil or wing experience, but it is more focused on downwind foiling and pack-away riding.
Beginners should choose the model that matches their main goal - Rover for freeride control and exploration, Ranger for downwind foil progression.
A Stash Belt lets you store your parawing while riding so you can foil hands-free after getting onto foil. This is especially useful for downwind foiling, surf foiling and long runs where you want to use the parawing to start, then pack it away and keep riding the swell without holding the wing.
The North Stash Belt has a dual-sided stretch pouch for stowing a parawing, ergonomic back support to reduce fatigue, leash attachment loops and an included removable Wing Harness Hook. It can also be used to carry an additional parawing size, helping riders increase their wind range without going back to the beach. The North Stash Belt works with multiple parawings and is especially useful with Ranger and Rover.
Parawing size depends on rider weight, wind strength, foil size, board volume and ability level. Smaller parawings are better for stronger wind and lighter riders, while larger parawings help in lighter wind or for heavier riders.
Rover - available in sizes from 2.4 m to 6.0 m.
Ranger - available in sizes from 2.2 m to 5.2 m.
