FAQ

Choose Flex for everyday twintip freeride.

Choose Flex Pro for big air, stronger support and harder landings.

Choose Fix boots for advanced freestyle and wakestyle.

Choose Surf Straps for kite surfboards.

Choose Foil Straps for foilboards.

Bindings - open-top pad and strap systems for twintip riding, used for freeride, big air and everyday kiteboarding.

Boots - lock the foot in more fully and are used mainly for freestyle and wakestyle riders who need maximum board connection.

Straps - lighter foot connections used mainly on surfboards and foilboards, where natural foot movement and easier release matter more.

Flex - the simpler everyday twintip binding for freeride and general progression.

Flex Pro - the higher-performance option for riders who want more support and impact absorption, especially for powered riding and big air landings.

Choose Flex for comfort and simplicity; choose Flex Pro for stronger support and harder landings.

North Fix boots are made for riders who want a locked-in connection for freestyle and wakestyle kiteboarding. They are better suited to advanced riders performing unhooked tricks, handle passes, powered landings or park-style riding. Beginners should normally start with open bindings, not boots.

Wakeboard boots are not the cleanest recommendation for kiteboarding because kiteboarding creates different loads, crash situations and saltwater exposure. A kite-specific boot such as the North Fix is the better choice for riders who need boots. Beginners and freeride riders should use bindings instead.

A beginner should choose open twintip bindings, usually the Flex or Flex Pro depending on budget, fit and support needs.

Bindings are easier to enter, easier to exit and more forgiving in crashes. Boots should be saved for advanced freestyle or wakestyle riding.

Yes. Foil riders should use dedicated foil straps or ride strapless, not standard twintip bindings.

Foil straps allow subtle foot movement and easier release during falls, which matters because foilboards behave very differently from twintips.

You do not strictly need Flex Pro bindings for big air, but they are the better North choice if you regularly jump high, ride powered and land hard.

Flex bindings are enough for many freeride riders. Flex Pro makes more sense when support, shock absorption and landing control are priorities.
