Kite Overview
Our award-winning and podium-proven kites are lightweight, responsive, efficient, easy to use and designed using the latest material technology for aerodynamic performance. Each kite has a riderstyle category it is most suited to.
High Performance Big Air
We’ve engineered our fastest, most reactive version of the iconic Orbit thinner and lighter, for extreme boosting and looping in a wider range. It features a higher-modulus and reduced-diameter Aluula airframe for a faster, more forward-flying kite with a more direct feel and even greater efficiency with a more direct feel and even greater efficiency.
Competition Big Air
Competition-optimised to land the highest-scoring tricks, the Orbit Pro is engineered lighter with faster steering, more extreme boosting and hangtime. Not for the faint-hearted, the Orbit Pro lets you exploit increased pressure systems at altitude for greater power and delivers hangtime to win the heat.
Big Air / Freeride
Committing to overpowered airs and megaloops in gusty conditions demands an unwavering trust in your kite. Our iconic premier 5-strut kite delivers incredible top-end control and allows you to hold down more power than any other kite per square metre. Big jumps, big hang time, big wind range, effortless steering and upwind drive. The Orbit is designed to have your back when nature won’t play nice.
Performance Freeride
Nimble and easy to ride, the Reach is your go-to kite in all conditions. Lively and playful with unparalleled versatility and wind range. Confident jumps. Upwind performance. Effortless relaunch. The lighter N-Max Dacron construction excels in lightwind, foil and surf, without compromising the kite’s durability. Its fast, responsive steering and efficient power delivery give rise to confident boosts, loops and freestyle, with quick, exponential depower.
Freestyle / Freeride
The explosive pop, powerful fast turns and responsive steering of our hybrid freestyle kite will set your heart pumping. The Pulse comes alive in unhooked Freestyle, and makes landing even the most technical tricks instinctive. The FlexPulse design ensures the kite turns throughout the entire canopy and power delivery is constant through the entire loop. Efficient and smooth-handling, the Pulse also has impressive freeride capabilities for super-high boosts and kite-loops.
Surf / Strapless Freestyle
The Carve is powerful, reactive and controllable surf/strapless freestyle kite, with a stable, lower aspect ratio design for fast pivot turns and excellent drift. We’ve refined the 2025 Carve bridling for increased depower and responsive feather-light steering. You’ll also discover a cleaner, more aerodynamic canopy profile and maximum boost.
Performance Foil
Code Zero is the name of a sail born to go fast in light, shifty conditions. Like its namesake, the Code Zero kite is a light, fast and reactive single-strut performer with effortless one-handed control and efficient light wind power delivery. It flies and turns quickly, has excellent drift and manoeuvrability, making it ideal for foiling and wave-riding. One of the lightest single-strut kites available, the Code Zero has a playful and agile feel with dynamic steering.
Olympic Formula Kite Racing
We’ve engineered our new Formula kite for aerodynamic efficiency, with balanced stability and deformation resistance, for maximum speed and range, high wind advantage and light wind performance.
Kite Technology
HyperFlow rapid single-point inflation
Ergonomic high volume single point inflation system with large diameter hose for rapid inflation and deflation. The cap and valve base geometry has been optimised for more comfortable opening and closing in colder conditions (when your fingers are freezing). The bayonet style main inflation valve is compatible with most pumps. No adaptor needed.
Durable reinforcement materials
For uncompromised strength and durability, the LE, struts and wingtips are constructed from an industry-proven Dacron material and we’ve used a layer of markcloth to reinforce the trailing edge. This adds strength and elongation control, protecting the lighter inner main canopy body.
High Performance N-HTRS canopy
All our kites are manufactured using high tenacity polyester yarn canopy material for lightness, high tear strength, zero porosity and longevity.
Kevlar reinforced strut system with bridle deflectors
For the most accurate and durable connection between the strut and the leading edge. Bridle deflectors on the leading edge prevent the control lines from snagging.
Durable, higher tensile leading edge seams
There is a large amount of force on the closing seam of the leading edge due to inflation and steering movement. We’ve replaced the thread in the closing seam with a new lightweight thread that features a higher breaking strength and better shock-absorbing qualities. Similar to the lines on a parachute, which undergo a high amount of movement and elongation, the new thread has improved fatigue, impact and wear resistance.
Quality Recycled PET Kite Bags
Your North kite packs down into a high-quality Recycled PET kite bag. The recycled polyester ripstop fabric meets the Global Recycling Standard. The Reach and Code Zero Kite Bags feature a comfortable STPU padded area with groove designed especially for carrying a foil mast over your shoulder. All kite bags also feature mesh windows for ventilation, zipper pockets for spare parts and storage, a Control System pocket and kite pump holder.
Highest quality no-pulley bridle lines
Our high-quality spliced, pre-stretched bridle lines are pre-loaded and measured before cutting to improve accuracy and consistency. This results in reduced shrinkage, reduced elongation and improved longevity. Removing all pulleys from the bridle improves safety and gives the kite direct and precise handling
DuraLite seam protection
A lightweight reinforcement to protect from chafing and abrasion along the struts to the leading edge. Thin foam padding is inserted underneath to form a lightweight durable buffer which lifts the kite slightly off rough surfaces and protects the stitching along the struts and leading edge seams. Markcloth seam protectors on the canopy also help to protect the stitching.
