The first trick is the kiteloop late backroll. This is one of the more traditional tricks, but this trick is now also done with double loops and different board offs variations.
The boogie loop is a kiteloop with an inverted frontroll. If you do two inverted front rolls at the critical moment, it’s called a doobie loop. We are also seeing this trick being performed with a double loop and or boardoffs.
These tricks can also be performed with a contra or double contra loop. This means looping your kite the other way around. Contra loops have a more aggressive freefall after the loop compared to regular loops.
Next up is the S loop. If done correctly, this is one of the most extreme moves there is, because halfway through your loop, you are sending the kite in the other direction.
In the board offs we are seeing a lot of variations these days. Instead of just taking the board off at the handle or the fin, the top riders are now also flipping and spinning their boards, which increases the risk of losing your board during your trick.
The combinations are endless, and we can’t wait to see what’s pulled off at this year’s King Of The Air.
Make sure to tune in for all the action with North X Red Bull King of the Air here.
