NAVIGATOR PRO QUICK RELEASE REPLACEMENT
North Kiteboarding has identified a potential warranty issue with a small number of the Connect Quick Release (QR) in the first production batch of the 2024 Navigator Pro Control System. North has traced this issue to the 'knurled pin' within the QR. It is possible for the knurled pin to disengage from the QR body, causing accidental opening of the safety loop.
North is offering, free of charge replacement of the QR in all 2024 Navigator Pro Control Systems that may be affected.
We require all customers to check the serial code of their Navigator Pro to determine if it may be affected. Detailed instructions for checking your serial code can be found below.

If your Navigator Pro may be affected, you will be redirected to another page with instructions for free QR replacement.
DO NOT USE OR RESELL any Navigator Pro that may be affected until the QR has been removed and replaced.
To remedy the issue, North will provide a replacement QR, to be installed onto the Navigator Pro Control System by a North Retailer or the Customer. Detailed installation instructions for the Navigator Pro QR replacement can be found here.

1. What does the serial code look like?
The complete serial code is a combination of letters and numbers. Only the last seven characters of the serial code are required to do the check.
For example, if your serial code is A24NVPM99923K1320, the code you will check is 23K1320.
2. How do I find the serial code?
You can find the serial code on the carton of your control system, as the last seven characters of the complete code (see image above). Alternatively, look for the seven characters inside the Quick Release (see image to the right).

What if my Navigator Pro has been identified as one of the affected batch but seems fine. Can I keep using it?
No. DO NOT USE OR RESELL a 2024 Navigator Pro Control System that may be affected until the QR part has been replaced.
Can I order a replacement QR before I complete the return process?
If your Navigator Pro is in the affected production batch, you will be directed to complete an online warranty form to order your free replacement QR. You do not need to return the old QR to North.
Does this free warranty replacement expire?
The warranty on your Nav Pro lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase depending on your regional laws, or if you registered your product online within 6 weeks of purchase, you have an additional six months of warranty.
Are shipping costs included for the replacement Quick Release?
Yes, we will provide free delivery of the replacement QR.
How long will the replacement QR take to arrive?
You can expect your replacement QR to arrive within 2-3 weeks.
How do I replace the QR?

What do I do with the old QR that may be affected?
Once the old QR has been removed from your Navigator Pro, please dispose of the entire QR body part responsibly. Do not dispose of the Harness Loop and Security Finger, as these will be reused with the new QR.
