About Amado
Born and raised on the small Caribbean island of Bonaire, Amado Vrieswijk grew up surrounded by one of the worldβs most iconic windsurfing playgrounds. What started with soccer and tennis quickly shifted after witnessing the 2002 PWA Freestyle World Cup on his home waters. Without formal coaching, he learned by watching the best, developing his style through pure time on the water-day after day until sunset.β¨
Driven by challenge and progression, Amado has never confined himself to a single discipline. From early success in youth slalom to competing across freestyle, wave and racing, his approach is defined by versatility, precision and relentless refinement. He claimed the Freestyle World Title in 2021, before turning his focus toward slalom and foil racing continuing his pursuit to master every facet of the sport.β¨
Known for his speed, intensity and commitment to pushing limits, Amado thrives in high-pressure race environments where control, timing and instinct decide the outcome. Whether chasing podiums or perfecting technique, his motivation remains the same: go faster, go further, and never stop progressing.β¨
With multiple world titles and championships already secured and more firmly in his sights Amado represents a new generation of rider: adaptable, driven, and always searching for the next level.
